Contract Drafting & Litigating Seminar at NSBA Annual Meeting
October 4, 2013, 10:00am - 11:30am (1.5 hrs of NE CLE)
Seminar Description: Offer. Acceptance. Consideration. Despite the lengthy hours studying these topics in first year contracts courses, they don't come up often in drafting or litigating contracts. What does come up? Representations. Warranties. Covenants. Indemnities. Unfortunately, many new lawyers didn't learn much about drafting or litigating these and other types of contractual provisions in law school. This seminar is intended to help fill in these gaps. Designed with a practical approach, John Walker will discuss the basics of contract drafting. Then Heather Voegele-Andersen and Todd Kinney will explain the pragmatic and strategic approaches to pursuing and defending these types of cases.
Annual Ethics CLE Seminar
The Omaha Bar Association, in conjunction with the Creighton University School of Law, proudly offers 2 hours of ethics CLE, for both NE and IA bar licenses, free of charge to OBA members every year. This seminar traditionally takes place in April at Creighton University. Past OBA President J. Scott Paul founded the event after CLE requirements were set in Nebraska, and attendance at this event has steadily risen over the years.
The OBA is grateful to the attorneys and members of the judiciary that have volunteered their time to assist in the presentation of this seminar each year.
